What is "Olpheel Anti-Ox" ?
Olpheel Anti-Ox is a 100% natural-origin product, made from grape seed and grape skin extracts, known for their with powerful antioxidant properties. It is particularly rich in polyphenols, notably short-chain oligoprocyanidines (OPC), powerful antioxidants that can neutralise free radicals and protect feed from oxidation.

Why use Olpheel Anti-Ox ?
Antioxidants are very common materials in aquafeed production. They are very useful in extending the shelf life of raw materials and feed by preventing oxidation and quality degradation. In particular, for lipidic fractions like fish and canola oil, as well as pigments like astaxanthin. Astaxanthin and other molecules from the carotenoid family, mostly used as pigments to colour salmonids fillets and shrimp, are also very powerful antioxidants, and thus very reactive molecules in the presence of free radicals and oxygen. When acting as antioxidants, they lose their pigmentation potential by losing an electron.
Antioxidants are also added to feed rations to prevent and limit oxidative stress in animals, which can occur in stages where higher metabolic rates are required (environmental changes, high feed consumption, stress…). The consequences of oxidative stress can include lower fillet quality, lower pigmentation, slowed growth and weaker animals.
